E3 2012: Analysts Say New Xbox/PlayStation To Come In 2013

Some video game analysts suggests that the next generation of consoles will be coming by the end of 2013, too early perhaps? Arvind Bhatia, an industry analyst, predicted that the next PlayStation 4 and Xbox will come near the the end of 2013, in a more likely probability. Bhatia says that,

"Based on various conversations we had at the conference, we believe it is all but a given that either Microsoft or Sony or both will launch their new consoles next year"

Another analyst agreed with Bhatia's predication, Colin Sebastian, who expects both consoles to be launched late in 2013. Sebastian went into details as he says the next consoles will have much better processing power all around, making improvements in all fields such as power, graphics, and speed.  Also, new features in the next consoles predicted by Sebastian include implementation of new features for online and microtransactions as well as free to play "revenue models" that are "flexible".

Bhatia eventually said E3 2012 failed to impress so far since there weren't any major announcements made. The reason for Bhatia to be disappointed is that he was hoping that announcements on price cuts would happen , as well as the Wii U price, and the software that comes with the Wii U. Eventually, none of that occurred...

What do you think about the next generation of consoles? Will they be coming out sometime next year or in 2014?

  1. Well this generation consoles have been out for quite a while, wouldn't be surprised if they came out in 2013. Honestly I don't mind either way really.

  2. I think the next Xbox will be at least announced next year if not released. PS4 might take longer I think.
